Denisse Casanova
Fluidity, the feeling of freedom, autonomy in the imagination, the imprecise final result that arises from the spontaneity of the moment when letting the hand come to life and trace a path across the paper without any rules; all through washes and the infinite line that India ink gives you; this is what characterizes my abstract style.
In contrast, the meticulousness in sketching each element, the search for perfection, the exploration of the surreal through realistic representations using techniques such as graphite, is what defines my figurative creation.
I was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco. I attended lessons with the artist Toni Guerra, who encouraged me to redefine my path through the arts to enter the world of abstraction, of the undefined, and abandon the universe of realistic, perfect representations. In this way, in conflict with all my concepts of figurative art, clean in technique, I began to experiment with new ways of creating unique, unrepeatable compositions.
