Isabel Arreola Peñuñuri is a visual artist originally from Ciudad Obregón, Sonora, currently based in Guadalajara, Jalisco.
Her practice encompasses painting and ceramics. In painting, she has six years of training, combining self-taught learning with training focused on oil and acrylic techniques, developed over two years at Monart, in addition to courses in art history, linocut, and drawing.
Currently, she is training in ceramics at Artea, where she has two years of practice; this discipline now occupies the center of her production, without neglecting her connection to painting.
Her creative process originates from intuition and personal exploration, guided by what attracts her, worries her, or sparks her curiosity, where creating becomes a way of approaching her own essence, without prejudice. Her intention is to find connection: with herself and with others.
The fox inhabits her imaginary as a presence linked to being and intimate connection, accompanying this process. Through her work, she seeks to evoke nostalgia, understanding creation as a process of self-knowledge.
