Karen Zavala
My work is a visual record and a profound investigation of nature, born from the intimate experience of inhabiting and interacting with the jungle of Quintana Roo, Mexico. Each painting functions as a tangible testimony of personal transformations, revelations, and ways of understanding our surroundings.
Through painting and photography, I explore what is seen, experienced in daily life, and felt when living with the territory and its animals, intertwining wild reality with a marked symbolic and philosophical background applied to the current context.
Far from being mere representations, my pieces seek to be energetic and physical anchors, spaces of contemplation that translate deep mental states into inhabited space. They offer an authentic emotional experience and a direct bridge to the essence of the environment, while seeking to glimpse where the world is heading, imagining forms of coexistence where technology and life dialogue beyond the anthropocentric in harmony with the environment.
