Maqui Ruiz

In her creations, she uses techniques such as acrylic, oil, pencil drawing, epoxy clay, and any material that allows for plastic experimentation. She depicts naive silhouettes colored with a palette of Mexican tones. Faces with exaggerated features that facilitate the communication of her characters' expressions and emotional weight. Her themes are based on psychological, interpersonal, and family situations, rendered in surreal compositions.

She studied academic drawing with master Héctor Javier Ramírez, oil painting with master Juan Pablo Zamora, graphic design with a focus on illustration, and a diploma in ceramics.

She has exhibited individually on several occasions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Guadalajara, CDMX, Cuernavaca, San Luis Potosí, and Spain. She is the winner of the image and project development for the Papirolas Festival 2023 and 2024. Her work has been sold nationally and is part of private collections abroad, as well as an author's villa intervened with murals, sculpture, and artwork in the Jardín de En medio.
