Misao

Mexican Embroidery Artist, she studied a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design and obtained a Master's Degree in Art Education. She found refuge in embroidery, which has become a language for her artistic practice, exploring ideas such as femininity, the body, spirituality, and the strong connection between women and the animal kingdom. Her artistic work combines pictorial techniques with different embroidery methods to create pieces using a technique she calls "painting with threads."

Her works have been sold both in and outside of Mexico. She has participated in collective exhibitions in Guadalajara and Mexico City; she has appeared on television, and the social media channels of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam published one of her pieces. She is part of the "Cófrades Bordadoras" group of the BAAD Free Embroidery Diploma at an Ibero-American level, where she has direct contact with master embroiderers and fellow artists.
