Misao
A Mexican embroidery artist, she studied Interior Design and earned a Master's degree in Art Education. She found in embroidery a refuge that has become a language through which to express her artistic practice, which explores ideas such as femininity, the body, spirituality, and the strong connection between women and the animal kingdom. Her artistic work combines painting techniques with various embroidery methods to create pieces using a technique she calls "painting with threads."
Her works have been sold both in Mexico and abroad. She has participated in group exhibitions in Guadalajara and Mexico City, appeared on television, and the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam featured one of her pieces on its social media. She is part of the Ibero-American group of Embroiderers and Women Embroiderers (Cófrades Bordadoras) in the BAAD Free Embroidery Diploma program, where she has direct contact with other embroidery artists and teachers.
