Sculptural assembly with reclaimed wood.

44 x 36 x 6 CM

This piece belongs to the "Stories" series, an exercise in introspection where wood ceases to be material and becomes language. Through the assembly of various species, each with its own hardness, grain, and origin, it constructs a relief that plays with light and shadow.

The composition is not random; it is a dialogue between geometric precision and organic warmth. The carved patterns and contrasting textures invite the viewer to a tactile visual exploration, representing the accumulation of experiences that, though fragmented, achieve a harmonious balance within the frame. It is a work that celebrates the resilience of reclaimed material and the sophistication of contemporary design.

Story of one of the fragments

A piece of wood left on the floor after weaving some chairs. The curvature caught my eye, that shape the material takes only when allowed to be. I kept it without knowing what for. Months later, it occurred to me that it finally had its place, but I wasn't sure if it would work. It was the piece I doubted the most and the one that turned out the best.
