Eroticism in Waiting explores the tension between desire and stillness. The female figure, depicted in a passive and contemplative pose, embodies an eroticism that remains suspended: intense, yet still dormant; present, but waiting to be discovered and taken.
The composition presents the body as a space of latent desire, where waiting holds as much power as action. The apple, placed on the body, functions as a symbol of temptation and desire, evoking that which attracts, provokes, and remains within reach, yet has not yet been taken.
The work thus reflects on eroticism as an experience that does not necessarily need to be consummated to exist. Sometimes, desire finds its greatest intensity precisely in the moment before: in the waiting, in the proximity, and in that which is yet to happen.
