This novel tells the story of Vincent Flanagan during the 1960s, a private detective who lost his younger brother at a very young age due to the incompetent search system; this motivates him to become one of the most famous detectives throughout the United States, solving a large number of cases and earning him the nickname "Foxhound."

But his most difficult case is yet to come... a mysterious call near Detroit informs him that a little girl has vanished into thin air in the town of Oakville. Vincent will have to find the girl before reaching a point of no return, all while falling in love with a beautiful young woman he meets in the town, and all this during the ravages of the conflict between the United States and Russia, known as the Cold War.

This story of mystery and romance will take an unexpected turn, uncovering something greater than Vince could have imagined.
