The Martyr of Time speaks to us about how we justify not having time to do what we like, want, or desire, with the phrase that more than once haunts us or we say: "I wish I had more time." This martyred woman with her white garments, which only show her serene face, reflects the complete opposite: a tranquility corrupted by not knowing what to do with the time she has left. The leafy vines that show the passage of time itself, with two flowers colloquially called angel's trumpets behind them, have a somniferous and lethal effect on people if they stay too long beneath them. A crown made of the same vine with 12 leaves resembles a natural clock crown, and just above it, a flower colloquially called a bellflower, are the elements that surround the work, telling us that time moves on, but that doesn't mean we have to martyr ourselves by not doing things.
